Portfolio-Centered Assessment

According to Dr. Helen Barrett, internationally known expert on electronic portfolio development, as we move to more standards-based teacher performance assessment, we need a standards-based electronic teaching portfolio to record and organize evidence of successful teaching. Electronic portfolio development brings together two different processes: multimedia development (assess/decide, design, develop, implement, evaluate) and portfolio development (collection, selection, reflection, projection). These two processes complement each other and are essential for effective electronic portfolio development.

The TexasTTCC electronic portfolio requires standards-based artifacts with a caption for each artifact which includes a reflection that demonstrates the participant's understanding of the standards and ability to integrate technology into the curriculum.

TexasTTCC Portfolio Evaluation Dates

TexasTTCC portfolios are evaluated four times a year.

November 30th, February 28th, May 31st, and August 31st

When you register to begin the assessment, the last possible evaluation date is automatically entered in the database for you. You may submit your portfolio for one of the earlier evaluation dates, but you may not submit after the evaluation date farthest from your start date.
